Wonder is often held up as a — if not the — central aspect of [[SF|Speculative Fiction]].
In [[Nonviolent Communication]], a sense of wonder, and genuine curiosity, are seen as integral to [[empathy]]. It's also relevant in the distinction between request and demand: Am I really wondering whether this other person wants to do what I ask? Am I pursuing whatever strategy as an inquiry, without attachment to outcome? One can also seen it in seeking a clear observation: Am I inquiring 'deeply' out into what happened concretely in the world that I am responding to? Am I openly seeking something that I and the other(s) involved agree on?
An interesting exercise would be to be present with empathy with someone, and speak only by guessing what inquiry is alive in them.
